Rolex Submariner 6536-1

 This all original Rolex 6536-1 made in III.1957 has serial number 306287. Between 1953-1959 there were seven different model Submariners.

• Model 6204, Year 1953-54 ,Calibre A260, 38mm Case with 5.30mm Crown   100 meters depth.
• Model 6205, Year 1954-55, Calibre A260, 38mm Case with 6.00mm Crown   100 meters  depth.
• Model 6200, Year  1954, Calibre A296, 38mm Case(thicker case) with 8.00mm  Crown  200 meters depth.
• Model 6538, Year 1954-59, Calibre 1030, 38mm Case(thicker case) with 8.00mm Crown   200 meters depth.
• Model 6536, Year 1955-59, Calibre 1030, 38mm Case(thin case)    with  6.00mm Crown    100 meters depth.
• Model 5508, Year 1957-61, Calibre 1530, 37mm Case(thin case)    with  6.00mm Crown    100 meters depth.
• Model 5510, Year 1958 Calibre, 1530, 38mm Case(thicker case) with 8.00mm Crown   200 meters depth

The 6536 replaced the 6205 using the new 1030 calibre.There were a number of Submariners for sale at the same time and were offering the choice of a professional divers watch  at 200meter or a slimmer version for the non professional at 100meters.

The 6536 fits the category of the slimmer 100 meter watch -1 after 6536 indicates it has been graded as a Chronometer.

The Gloss Gilt Dial Radium has aged beautifully,the closed minute track dates the watch to 1955,faint but visible with a loop and written above submariner is 100m=330ft.The hour,minute and sweep hand are also original to the dial and period.The bezel has aged with time and has faded to a light grey. The case is free of dents, scratches and corrosion. The movement hasnt seen alot of servicing,the bridges and plates shine like new. Marked inside the case back is 6536/1 III.57.

The watch comes ready to wear on a folded s/s Rolex genuine bracelet number 7836.
