Rolex Submariner ref: 168000 (1988) (Spider Web)
Rolex Submariner ref: 168000. (Spider dial)
The Rolex Submariner 168000 is an extremely rare transitional model that sits between the 16800 and the 16610, and was made for just nine months between 1988 and 1989. Visually, it is identical to the later 16800's, but it is in fact made from a different kind of steel to its older sibling. Rolex used 904L steel rather than the standard 316L, which they had developed in order to be more resistant to salt water corrosion during frequent diving. Its rarity is so great that it is one of the rarest Submariner models ever made.
This Rolex Submariner model 168000 with serial number 9720924 was manufactured in 1987.
The bracelet has no links missing and is ref 93150 with correct end pieces ref 593.
